WARREN D. HYNSON

Warren Hynson is a dedicated appellate attorney focusing on criminal appeals and post-conviction litigation. He is admitted to practice in North Carolina and before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of North Carolina, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. He is recognized by North Carolina Super Lawyers as a Rising Star.

A Raleigh native, Warren has built a career advocating for clients throughout North Carolina, securing relief in complex criminal cases from the mountains to the coast. Warren is committed to ensuring each client receives a fair opportunity to challenge their convictions and seek relief through appellate and post-conviction litigation. In addition to handling his own cases, Warren advises and works with trial lawyers on raising and preserving issues for criminal appeals.

After graduating magna cum laude with his Bachelor of Arts degree in history from North Carolina State University, Warren earned a Master of Arts degree in history with honors from Boston University. Warren then attended New England Law | Boston, where he received his Juris Doctor cum laude in 2016.

Warren is an active member of the legal community and currently serves on the Executive Committee for the Criminal Defense Section of North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ). He is a past recipient of a NCAJ NEXT fellowship, a leadership initiative within NCAJ. Warren has been featured as a speaker at NCAJ and his work has received attention in legal and general media outlets.
